Enigma Jiu Jitsu made its return on April 30th with the Enigma Invitational VI in what was the promotions debut in the Lone Star State.
The card featured 10 super fight bouts behind closed doors at Renzo Gracie Austin, with all matches streamed on Enigma TV
The Main Event of the card featured Andrew Tackett and Jozef Chen in a "Bet Match" where both competitors put $500 on the line. After a little under 5 minutes of back and forth action, the seasoned Chen finished Tackett with an impressive kneebar.
No need to feel bad for Tackett however, as he had ANOTHER $500 "Bet Match" earlier in the day against Kaya Rudolph. In what was also a competitive match with Rudolph relentlessly attacking his opponents legs, Tackett ultimately submitted the 2x ADCC national champion with a head and arm triangle.
Not every match on the card featured dollar bills on the line however, as most were simply for bragging rights.
The fastest submission of the day came in the cards second match as B-Team competitor Joe Cox submitted James Kubacak with a heel hook in 38 seconds.
Another quick submission came later on when Abraham La Monntagne finished Davit Vardanyan at 1 minute 23 seconds into the bout with a heel hook of his own.
The women competitors got the honors of starting the event when Christine Brothwell survived an early onslaught from her opponent Paola Ambriz and was able to secure an armbar finish.
All the day's action can be streamed on Enigma TV, Enigma will be making its return to the Austin area on June 4th and is accepting fighter applications currently.
